About ALDI

ALDI is one of the largest grocery retailers in the world, operating more than 2,300 stores across the United States and backed by a network of regional distribution centers that keep every one of those stores stocked. ALDI built its reputation on a lean, no-frills operating model — a smaller assortment, efficient shelf-ready packaging, and a distribution network engineered to move product from dock to store shelf with minimal waste and minimal delay. That same lean philosophy shapes life inside our warehouses: smaller, more capable teams, real cross-training instead of narrow one-task roles, and wages built to attract and keep the best warehouse talent in the region.

What Our Team Says (Employee Reviews)

"I run cycle counts across the building every day, comparing what the system says is on hand against what is actually on the shelf. When I find a variance, I track it down to the root cause instead of just adjusting the number. It is the most detail-oriented role in the warehouse and I like that ALDI actually acts on the data I bring them." - Current Inventory Clerk, Batavia, IL.

Role Overview & Responsibilities

As an ALDI Inventory Clerk, you maintain inventory accuracy across the distribution center through scheduled cycle counts and variance investigation.

• Cycle Count Execution: Conduct scheduled cycle counts across assigned storage zones, comparing physical counts against the warehouse management system's on-hand quantity for each slot.
• Variance Investigation: Investigate any count discrepancy to identify the root cause — misplaced pallets, mis-scans, or data entry errors — before submitting an inventory adjustment, rather than adjusting the count without explanation.
• Inventory Reporting: Compile daily and weekly inventory accuracy reports for the warehouse operations team, flagging any zone or product category with a recurring variance pattern for further review.

Benefits & Perks

ALDI Inventory Clerks earn a competitive hourly wage, plus paid time off, a 401(k) with company match, and medical, dental, and vision benefits.
